POS and kitchen system for restaurants

Kunoway RMS: till, kitchen and order calling for fast food

Kunoway RMS is the till and kitchen system we are building in Florence for restaurants in Italy: counter orders, Italian fiscal receipts (RT), kitchen tickets or screens and order-number calling, even when the internet is down. The first version is designed for fast food and street food, and you can already try it in the online demo.

In developmentWe are building it with a street-food shop, which will start using it once the first version is complete. In the demo the till, kitchen and calling screen already work, with a simulated fiscal printer, card terminal and kitchen printer.

What it does

In the demoIn the first version

Counter orders

Large buttons, options such as extra chilli or egg, eat-in or takeaway, then straight to payment in cash or by card.

In the demo

Every order reaches the kitchen

A printed ticket for each order, or a kitchen screen. If the printer runs out of paper or goes offline, the till warns you and reprints by itself when it's back.

In the demo

Order-number calling

A screen with “In preparation” and “Ready”, with a chime and a voice in Italian and Chinese when an order is ready.

In the demo

Fiscal receipt and card terminal

Every payment goes through the telematic fiscal printer. If a card payment succeeds but the receipt doesn't print, the till flags it and reprints it without charging twice.

In the demo

Works without internet

If the network drops or the shop's server goes off, the till carries on alone: orders, kitchen tickets and payments. When it's back, everything syncs without duplicates.

In the demo

Online orders and delivery

Orders from a QR code or a link with Stripe payment to the restaurant's own account; deliveries with your own riders, including cash on delivery.

In the first version

Menu and allergens

Categories, products, options and the 14 mandatory allergens, in several languages, managed from an online panel.

In the first version

Shift close and reports

Shift handover, cash count, reconciliation with the fiscal printer's and card terminal's daily close, preparation times.

In the first version

Staff and permissions

Staff sign in with a PIN, and sensitive actions such as voids and refunds are logged.

Try it in the online demo

The demo is a test restaurant open to everyone: place an order, take cash or card, see the fiscal receipt and the kitchen ticket, then simulate a power cut or a printer out of paper. The data is reset every time the demo is updated.

How it works in the shop

A server in the shop

A small computer in the shop connects till, kitchen and screens, so everything keeps working without internet.

Touch till

The till runs on a Windows touch PC, connected to the fiscal printer, card terminal and cash drawer.

Kitchen and calling

Each kitchen station chooses printer or screen; the calling screen runs on a TV.

Supported devices

If the shop already has a fiscal printer and card terminal we reuse them when they are compatible; for new devices we prepare a quote that fits the budget.

  • Epson FP-81 II RT telematic fiscal printer
  • Card terminals with Protocollo 17 (activated through the bank)
  • Networked ESC/POS kitchen printers
  • Windows touch PC for the till
  • TV or monitor for the calling screen

Have a different model? Tell us which: adding it is part of the work before installation.

Which restaurants

First version, in development

Fast food and street food

Customers pay first, the order goes to the kitchen and the number is called when it's ready. Takeaway and delivery.

Planned

Chinese and all-you-can-eat restaurants

Tables, ordering in rounds, waiters with phones, cover charge and split bills.

Planned

Trattoria and pizzeria

Floor plan, courses fired to the kitchen, pre-bill and splitting the bill evenly.

Italian rules

Telematic fiscal printer

A commercial document for every payment, with amounts calculated in cents and the same rounding as the fiscal printer.

Card terminal linked to the fiscal printer

The 2025 Italian Budget Law requires the card terminal to be linked to the telematic fiscal printer: the till records card payment and receipt together and flags any difference.

Allergens

In the first version's menu the 14 allergens of EU Regulation 1169/2011 are a required field, also shown in online orders.

Customer data

A customer's name, phone and address are saved only with their consent, which is recorded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I already use Kunoway RMS in my restaurant?

Not yet. The first version, for fast food and street food, is in development together with a pilot shop. You can try it in the online demo and write to us if you want to be among the first restaurants to use it.

Does it work with my fiscal printer?

Today it supports the Epson FP-81 II RT. If you have another model, tell us which: adding it is part of the work before installation.

What happens if the internet goes down?

The till keeps selling, printing kitchen tickets and taking payments. When the network is back, the data syncs by itself, with no duplicate orders.

Do I need to buy new devices?

It depends on what you already have. The till needs a Windows touch PC; fiscal printer, card terminal and printers are reused if compatible. We prepare a quote that fits your budget.

Which languages does it work in?

The calling screen speaks Italian and Chinese. The till and menu will be in Italian, Chinese and English.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the restaurant and the devices. Write to us and we'll reply with a quote.

Want to see it with your menu?

Tell us about your restaurant: we'll show you the demo and what it would take to use it in your shop.
